Welcome

Here are some poems, short and long. They are even better when read aloud. Enjoy.

Cigarettes

Let me have just one more,
Just one little more
While breathing and breathing
I’ll have just one more.
Though smoke is just nothing
Is nothing in white
The smoke fills you up
With nothing in white
But fills you up breathing
And breathing one more
Where the smoke fills you up
You have something and more.
And today I have nothing,
Or at least little something
And a something is more
Than a nothing you’re sure
So I’ll quit then tomorrow
As sure as I’m sure,
But until then, still breathing,
I’ll have just one more.

The Ballad of Captain Har Har

Thought Captain Har Har, "All we are what we are.
All we living in darkness, all we dying in wars.
I is only one man, and this earth is a star.
I's got only one sound, likes a pin in a jar.
Yet I am Har Har, and I are what I are."

Experience

Now that I know what I know,
I cannot go where I used to go.
Now that I’ve been where I have been,
I cannot pretend what I used to pretend.
Now that I’ve thought what I have thought,
The ship has sailed, the farm’s been bought.

Experience’s a trip you cannot choose,
The more you gain, the more you lose.
The more you lose, the more you’ve got,
With plenty for all, like it or not.
